Our first full day has come to a close. It was a great first day.
Genesis was the choir for worship at Central Baptist Church. Kendell was siting next to the pastor as the choir finished one piece. The pastor exclaimed, "Wow!" and then a lady behind just responded, "Yeah!" There was much excitement in the congregation to worship with Genesis.
The afternoon was spent in fun at Daytona Lagoon. The site included water park, go karts, laser tag, arcade, mini-golf, and a rock climbing wall. Some youth learned not to challenge Peter Haley in racing go karts lest they get pushed into walls.
Many of you on Facebook have already seen that Mr. G did make the trip after all, or at least his face did. Flat G made several appearances in different places today. He'll probably make many more.
Also, "Mama Kay" McIntosh has joined us. Having Kay back feels great for all of us!
Many of our group found themselves at Johnny Rockets for dinner. When the waitresses started dancing to "Last Dance," our group proved that at least some Baptists can dance. Kendell did not join them to prove that some Baptists cannot!
A touching moment in the restaurant was our group connecting to one of the waitresses. When she asked the group to sing, they got together and sang "Bonse Aba" to the delight on many in the restaurant. She beamed when we told her the meaning of the lyrics: All that sing have the right to be called the children of God.
It brought to memory the reason we are here - to share that very message of God's love and grace. "All that sing have the right to be called the children of God." Amen!
